How to get rid of eye bags

Eye bags and circles can easily mar the beauty of our eyes. Beauty resides in the eyes and we all dream of a pair of shinning, beautiful eyes free of dark circles and eyes bags. Certain things like diet choices, bad lifestyle, lack of sleep, bad makeup removal habits, inherited genes, age, etc. contribute to eyebags and darl circles.

1. Use a cold compress: Wet a clean washcloth with cold water. While sitting up, apply the damp washcloth to the skin under and around your eyes for a few minutes using mild pressure.

2. Cut down on fluids before bedtime and reduce salt in your diet. This will reduce fluid retention and maybe the root cause of your eye bags. Meanwhile, experts recommend about 9 cups of fluids for women daily. Aside from eye bags, a high salt intake might lead to other health issues, like heart diseases, stroke and others.

3. Do not smoke. Smoking can aggravate the problem of bags under your eyes. Smoking diminishes your body’s stores of vitamin C, which is responsible for creating healthy collagen in your skin.

4. Get enough sleep. For most adults, seven to nine hours is a good amount of sleep.

5. Never wear makeup to bed: Wearing makeup to bed exposes you to free radicals, thus the need to wash that makeup off. Wearing eye makeup like mascara may irritate your eyes, you might develop an infection that creates redness, puffiness or other symptoms. Also, you may experience an allergic reaction.
Be tender when you remove the makeup around your eye. Do not to pull or pluck the eyelids, if you do so often, your eyelids will grow lax and eye bags will set in.

6. Quit alcohol intake: Alcohol intake is said to contribute to dehydration and this may lead to bags and dark circles beneath the eye. Do you always have cravings for alcoholic drinks? It is advised that you try infusing water with fruit or take flavoured sparkling water.
